Customers have been advised they can use the Holbeach branch situated in West End in the meantime.

The nearest alternative cash machine to the Spalding Nationwide branch is situated at Barclays Bank in Hall Place.

A spokesperson for Nationwide Building Society told us this afternoon (Tuesday): "We’re in the process of improving our Spalding branch - making it more modern, comfortable and easier to use.

"It will be closed until 10am on Friday, January 24, 2020. We’ll be able to help members in our Holbeach, Bourne and Boston branches while the improvement work is taking place. The branch team are looking forward to welcoming members back once we are open."
