People gather around Holbeach Jubilee Beacon to mark start of the celebrations
Platinum Jubilee celebrations have set South Holland alight tonight as beacons were lit.
Families and friends turned out this evening to watch the lighting of the Holbeach beacon at 9.45pm to tie in with the national festivities.
The honour of lighting the beacon fell to Dave Hagen, who is a committee member of the Royal Observer Corps, with Air Cadet Watson following a countdown by some members of the crowd.
Ahead of the big moment Mr Hagen, who is a former chief observer and served for 15 years, said: "I am thrilled to bits to light the beacon. It is an honour to have been asked.
"This is going to be a memory which will last for a long time."
Holbeach Parish Council's parks teams had the tricky job of getting the beacon ready for the celebrations.
Chairman Coun Stephen Johnson was thrilled with the turn out to the event.
He said: "It is fabulous to see everyone has turned out to watch. Everything has gone smoothly and I would like to thank everyone."
