Sharon is enjoying time and space at The Hair Pavilion

After stepping back momentarily from the busy whirl of business, hairdresser Sharon Talbot has taken down the pace with her new boutique salon in Weston.

Sharon, former owner of IF salon in Holbeach, is now the owner of The Hair Pavilion, which is based at Baytree Garden Centre.

“When I started in Holbeach, it brought something new to the area,” said Sharon. “It brought a busy London-style salon buzz to Lincolnshire - something very different in those days! I wanted to create a London salon in a rural community.”

Sharon has lived in Lincolnshire for 21 years, having been brought up in east London and trained in the city 30 years ago.

“When I sold the salon, the plan was to take a back step and retire,” she said. “But through client demand, that didn’t happen - so I have chosen to do something very different at Baytree.

“It’s a really lovely space and I spend lots of time with my clients, that way they can relax, enjoy a drink and some nibbles - it’s very laid back and there’s no rush - very different to my previous salon,” said Sharon, who works by appointment only, so clients - both male and female - have her full, undivided attention. “It’s producing some of the best hairdressing I have ever done,” she added.

“In 20 years, hairdressing has changed so much,” said Sharon. “People now come solely as a lifestyle choice.”

After 15 months at Baytree, Sharon is now looking for someone to share her space at The Hair Pavilion, on a self-employed basis. “I don’t want to employ anyone again - I had a big team in Holbeach and I’ve done that. I’m looking for someone who shares my work ethos and who would love to work in a beautiful space.”
