Business wants to build a new 29,000m² development in Sutterton

A horticultural supplies business wants to build a new 29,000m² development in the area.

Donington-based Dejex Supplies Ltd have applied for planning permission for a commercial warehouse facility including offices, sales area and associated landscaping and parking on land in Sutterton.

“The proposal seeks to provide Dejex Supplies Ltd, a growing local business, with a new base of operations,” the design and access statement produced by Jonathan Hendry Architects said.

“The facility will house a 3265m² warehouse, 400m² office space and a 260m² trade counter area for commercial customers.”

The proposed site is located at the junction of the A17 and Broad Lane, approximately 1.2km southwest of Sutterton village centre.

The site is located within open countryside.

“The site currently sits vacant following its acquisition by Dejex Supplies Ltd,” the statement added.

“Previously owned by Boston Seeds, it was used for growing and developing varieties of grass seed and wildflowers.

“The proposal consists of a large pitched roof storage/distribution warehouse with access to the northern elevation for delivery and dispatch vehicles.

“The south side of the building houses open-plan office space and a trade counter area for commercial customers.

“The southeast and southwest corners of the building are semi-external, providing a product display area and a staff workshop space beneath the overhanging roof.”

Plans have been submitted to Boston Borough Council.
