Police closed A151 between Spalding and Bourne after a lorry pulled over and got stuck in the mud near Twenty




A busy road had to be closed after a lorry got stuck in the mud at the side of the carriageway.

Police were called out to the A151 between Spalding and Bourne at 9.09pm last night (February 20) after reports of a broken down lorry causing a hazard on a bend in the road.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman explained: “Officers were dispatched the ensure the safety of the lorry driver and other road users.

“It transpired that that driver had pulled over to resolve an issue with their wing mirror, and the nearside wheels sank in the soft verge. The vehicle was pulled free from the mud and went on its way.”

The road was closed between Twenty and West Pinchbeck while the lorry was safely freed.
