Spalding Road in Pinchbeck shuts due to Cadent gas works

A busy road has been closed off to traffic as part of gas works.

Temporary traffic lights have been in place on Spalding Road, Pinchbeck between the Wardentree Lane junction and relief road roundabout for a number of weeks while Cadent carries out work.

However, the road has now been closed off to traffic. It also closed yesterday for a short while before reopening, leaving people scratching their heads.

Nearby resident George Scott said: “There’s been no notice. No ambulance can get through or anything. People are coming up to us and asking where to catch the bus.

“They closed it yesterday and opened it two hours later.

“It’s causing a lot of hassle.”

Cadent’s project is classed as ‘emergency works’. It began on August 8 and is supposed to end by August 25.
