Spalding's Park Road closed yet again

A busy town road has been forced to close to traffic again - in the latest of a long list of issues for the route.

Spalding's Park Road is shut to traffic this morning from the junction with Pennygate - having only recently re-opened following a long closure while a sewer was fixed.

An Anglian Water spokesman said: “There is a burst water pipe in the area, probably to do with temperature plummeting.

“We have engineers out investigating and repairing right now. Unfortunately some houses are experiencing low water pressure.

"We are working hard to conclude this by close of play today and we apologise for any disruption to our customers.”

Earlier in the week, standing water was seen in the road. Anglian Water told this paper that this was not down to the recent repair but instead was due to 'roadside/kerb drainage' and was a matter for the highways authority.
