Gosberton Parish Council calls for speed limit along Cawood Lane to be cut to 30mph

Gosberton Parish Council is hoping to reduce the speed limit along Cawood Lane.

Residents have called for the 60mph limit to be halved to 30mph, after reports of speeding.

“It’s a very narrow road with a row of houses along it,” explained John Clark, chairman of the parish council.

“There are a lot of children playing down there and there have been cars flying down there.

“People are worried about lorries speeding down there as well.”

The parish council met on Monday evening, where it was agreed to write to Lincolnshire County Council’s Highways department to request a change in speed limit.

It was also hoped that signs warning of children playing could be erected.

“It would be good to change the speed limit, to make it all - or parts of it 30mph,” Mr Clark added.

“We will contact Highways to see what the next thing we can do is.”
