Kirton incident: car collides with house off A16 roundabout

Emergency services are at the scene of a collision between a car and house in Kirton.

It happened in Station Road, near the A16 roundabout, and was reported to police at about 4.12pm today.

Traffic queues were reported to be building up between Kirton and Sutterton roundabouts, while a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: "Minor injuries were reported."

Meanwhile, a fallen tree caused delays for drivers using the B1397 London Road between Kirton and Sutterton earlier today.

The Boston to Spalding B13 service, operated by Brylaine Travel, had to be diverted along the A16 and the road was finally cleared after about two hours.

A Lincolnshire County Council highways spokesman said: "We are dealing with a number of fallen trees across the county today.

"People can report fallen trees that are blocking roads to us on 01522 782070 during office hours, or the police by calling 101."
