Care home rated good after ‘improvements to all aspects of the service’
Inspectors have praised a care home for making rapid improvements to ‘all aspects of the service’.
Fleet Hargate’s Field House Care Home has been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission.
It was previously rated Requires Improvement in a report published in February of this year due to ‘continued breaches of regulations’ and, prior to that inspection, it had been placed in Special Measures since August 2022.
“Improvements had been made to all aspects of the service since the last inspection,” the report read.
“Leadership had been consistent and the management team worked well with external agencies in order to promote positive outcomes for people.
“Risks to people's health, safety and welfare were identified and managed.
“Medicines were managed safely and staff followed infection prevention and control policies.”
Field House – which provides personal care for up to 28 older adults – was rated Good in all five categories; Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led.
This resulted in an overall rating of Good in the report, published this month following an inspection in June.
The report added: “Improvements had been made to governance systems and action had been taken to address any shortfalls identified in audits.
“The provider continued to work through a programme of improvements to the environment. Safe staff recruitment systems were in place.
“There were enough staff, who received up to date training, to provide safe care.
“Improvements had been made to the way in which staff were deployed. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.”
