Quadring Colourful Carnival helped to boost children’s confidence

A carnival performance helped to boost children’s confidence.

The Quadring Colourful Festive Carnival took place on Saturday and event organisers say ‘there wasn't a dry eye in the house’.

Organiser Liz Lenton said: “It was our first co-design project. The children created and designed everything along with some support from us – they came up with different themes including Rio, Pride, Oktoberfest, Diwali and more.

“I am absolutely delighted with how it went. Seeing it all come together and how much the children enjoyed it was rewarding – I am very proud.

“We have received lovely feedback from the kids involved, a lot of them said it was the first time they felt like their ideas had been listened to.

“My choir group, Choir Vibe, were also there and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. The audience ranged from babies to 90 year olds which was so nice to see.

“The kids were amazing and we also received lovely feedback forms back from parents who attended on the night, one of them wrote: ‘This project has helped to develop my child into a confident person’. Another audience member said, ‘In an age of isolation and a virtual world, coming together and working as a team is a fantastic opportunity’.”
