A chance has opened up to put a new Bounce into a Spalding night-time venue.

Owners of the town's Bounce Pre-Club Bar, off Westlode Street, have put the site up for rent, with options that could include turning it into a restaurant, fitness centre or children's play area.

The bar closed in March at the same time as the nearby XO nightclub and Imaginarium bar were launched, replacing the former Loaded club after 15 years.

Matt Clark, of Spalding-based Activ Leisure group which owns Bounce, said: "Bounce had been opened for about 14 years and it was originally a small nightclub which then migrated into a sports bar.

"It was hugely successful and we got to the point where there were queues out onto the car park when Bounce was showing football from the World Cup or European Championships.

"But when we decided to relaunch Loaded in March, Imaginarium became our pre-bar venue, instead of Bounce.

"What we're looking for now is somebody who would be a complementary operator to our other businesses by putting on a new leisure offering for the town."

Mr Clark confirmed that "four or five approaches" have already been made to take on the venue which measures about 2,150 square feet (about 200 square metres.

Meanwhile, AlleyCatz bowling centre is open as normal and Mr Clark hopes whoever moves into Bounce will have ideas that can fit in with the venue.

"A few peeople have expressed an interest in opening a restaurant, something that complements AlleyCatz and can build both businesses up," Mr Clark said.

"It's good to see the interest and the venue does benefit from being near the town centre and having a large car park outside of it.

"Bounce is ready for a new lease of life because, although it's still a leisure complex, it probably needs something new to make it more vibrant and bring people out to it."
