Weston collision blackspot to have safety measures made permanent
The partial closure of a road junction in Weston where a number of crashes have occurred in recent years is set to be made permanent.
A "One Way/No Entry" system at Beggars Bush Lane, Broad Gate and West Cob Gate trialled since July 2019 will stay in place when a road order is made by county highways managers next year.
It will prevent drivers from turning right out of Broadgate into Beggars Bush Lane, a change made sue to concerns about the junction's high crash rate.
Figures from the website crashmap.co.uk showed that six crashes were reported at the junction between September 2015 and February 2019.
John Siddle, of Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, said: "The Beggars Bush Lane restriction will become permanent as a result of collision data and requests from local residents.
"It will serve as an engineering measure to reduce the risk at that junction."
