Changes to South Holland festive refuse collection dates announced

Changes to Christmas-time refuse collections across the area have been revealed.

South Holland District Council have announced the changes to bin collection dates in the district over the festive period.

Collection days will be affected over a three-week period from December 25 to January 11.

In week one collection days will be pushed back 48 hours or more.

If your refuse is regularly collected on Wednesday (December 25) it will now be picked up on Friday (December 27), while residents used to Thursday collections (December 26) will see their rubbish taken away on Saturday (December 28).

Friday collection days (December 27) will now be moved to Monday (December 30).

In week two collection dates will again be pushed back: Monday, December 30, becomes Tuesday, December 31; Tuesday, December 31 becomes Thursday, January 2; Wednesday, January 1 becomes Friday, January 3; Thursday, January 2 becomes Saturday, January 4; Friday, January 3 becomes Monday, January 6.

Week three will see all collection days pushed back 24 hours.

Monday, January 6 becomes Tuesday, January 7; Tuesday, January 7 becomes Wednesday, January 8; Wednesday, January 8 becomes Thursday, January 9; Thursday, January 9 becomes Friday, January 10; Friday, January 10 becomes Saturday, January 11.
