Spalding charity Tonic Health at the forefront of caring

Spalding charity Tonic Health ran several projects supporting those in need over the festive period.

Two co-ordinators, Rob Simpson and Freddie Schunmann, took part in the ‘Walking Home for Christmas’ challenge for the Walking with the Wounded veterans' charity.

They walked from Tonic Health in Spalding to Holbeach and have raised £236.61 so far. You can still donate at: www.walkinghomeforchristmas.com/teams/team-tonic or on Tonic Health’s Facebook page.

The Safe Places group at Tonic Health made £150 at a craft stall at the Spalding Christmas Fayre, with all items designed, created, and painted by the group. Another Safe Places member, Lorraine Derrick, swam a mile in the Spalding Lions annual charity sponsored swim, raising more than £70.

Good Neighbour Scheme co-ordinator Alexia Green organised a Christmas gift drive and 63 parcels were donated for children ranging in age from newborns to 18-year-olds.

Tonic Health has again been given money through the Winter Relief fund and, from January 17, light lunches will be provided in Spalding, Long Sutton, Market Deeping and Boston and a Night Light Café will also run from its Westlode Street offices.
