Government says University Academy Long Sutton rebuild plans are progressing
Education chiefs say they are making progress on plans for a major rebuilding project at a secondary school.
University Academy Long Sutton was last year selected as part of the Government’s flagship School Rebuilding Programme.
The plan was said to include new buildings for the school - but with details were not decided and an update was due in the autumn term.
A spokesman for the Department for Education said they were working very closely with the school and explained: “The University Academy Long Sutton SRP project is progressing through the feasibility process as we would expect and we are working closely with the trust and academy to ensure the best solution for the young people of Long Sutton.”
The school - formerly known as the Peele - had said its new buildings will be ‘energy efficient designs’ with high sustainability standards and net zero in operation.
