Spalding Broad Street Methodist Church get together for first coffee morning

Church members and friends enjoyed their first coffee morning for a year.

Spalding Broad Street Methodist Church served up refreshments in the nearby hall on Saturday.

Member Lu Chappell (72) said: “It was very well supported. It’s the first time we’ve done a coffee morning with the new Covid guidelines. We were a little apprehensive but it went very well.

“We saw a lot of regular supporters, members and town people. It was very successful, and we managed to raise £220.”

The money raised will be donated to Christian Aid.

“We’ve missed it,” said Lu. “We were a bit apprehensive, but we were all happy to be back and doing our more regular events.

“It was a steady trickle all morning. We weren’t overly busy, I think people are still being a little bit wary. We still got a good number.”
