‘A Great Day Out’ is on offer at Surfleet church flower festival




‘A Great Day Out’ is being offered at a church flower festival.

St Laurence Church in Surfleet is ready to welcome a stream of visitors to admire the stunning floral arrangements which will be on display until Monday, May 5.

This year’s event, which follows the theme of A Great Day Out’, is open from 10am to 5pm.

Visitors will also be able to pick up a treat from the various stalls.

Members and friends of the church will be serving up treats in the cafe, held in Fraser Rooms, from 10am.

One of the people behind the event, Mary Sharrocks, has thanked all the arrangers and helpers.

She said: “Last year the flower festival was a great success - a thoroughly enjoyable community event that raised £8,000 for church funds. The money raised this year will be used to help maintain the building and keep services running at their current level.

“Our first three days have been brilliant - beautiful flower arrangements, tasty hot meals in the Fraiser Room Café, a display by the children of Surfleet Primnary School and plenty of visitors.”
