Former Formula One team owner Colin Crabbe raises money in Spalding and town's Marching Ambassadors power way to London Olympic Games in 2012
Former Formula One team owner Colin Crabbe helped to raise £370 for charity in Spalding ten years ago. In aid of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, he delivered a talk about his career to classic car enthusiasts.
More than 100 people turned out for the event, which was organised by Spalding and East Elloe Classic Car Club.
Meanwhile, Spalding’s Marching Ambassadors were powering their way towards the Olympic Games back in 2012.
They were set to perform at the opening ceremony, with bandmaster Jim Bright, his daughter Catherine Bright and grandson Tristan, Annabel Tristan and Carol Felts making the trip.
In need of £2,500 for transport and accommodation, they made £850 from a raffle ten years ago this week.
