Closing date for Butters Factory Shop at Low Fulney, near Spalding, confirmed

The closing date for a popular factory shop has been confirmed.

Last month Flamingo Flowers announced that the Butters Shop at their Low Fulney site was set to cease trading as the business was moving its plant packing operation to its Weston facility.

The much-loved store, which specialises in plants, garden furniture and gardening equipment, has been selling off its stock at reduced prices, with many of the once brightly-stocked shelves now bare.

Now an official closing date has been confirmed.

“After thoroughly evaluating our current operational footprint, we have decided to relocate our plant packing operation from our Kellet Gate site to our neighbouring Weston facility,” a Flamingo Flowers statement read.

“This strategic move will enhance operational efficiency and ensure a more streamlined process for our valued employees and customers.

“Whilst most of our employees will transfer to the new location, we are acutely aware of the impact this may have and are currently finalising these arrangements.

“Regrettably, these changes mean we have made the difficult decision to close the Butters Factory Shop effective Friday, June 28.”

Customers are also asked to ensure gift cards for the shop are used by this date.

A previous statement by Flamingo Flowers added the firm was reducing operational management, administrative, and support roles but had ‘made every effort to avoid compulsory redundancies’.

Readers have been sad to hear the store will be closing.

“It is such a shame as it is always busy and I know people who travel from Norfolk just to go there. You will be really missed,” wrote Sarah Parnell.

Anita Brown added: “I am very sad the shop will be closing. It has been such a good place to go all year round.”

Readers also paid tribute to the staff at the Butters Shop, labelling them ‘amazing’, ‘lovely’ and ‘hard working’.
