Rotary Club of Spalding and Welland unveils new president

The Rotary Club of Spalding and Welland is in a ‘safe pair of hands’ after unveiling its new president.

Diana Ridpath has taken on the chain of office from outgoing Barry Elliott, while Sarah Chalcraft has taken up the vacated president elect role.

The new roles were confirmed at The Woodlands Hotel as the handover was made official.

“I have enjoyed my year very much, but I am pleased now to pass the position on to another safe pair of hands,” said Barry.

“Followed by yet another equally safe pair of hands for the following year of Sarah’s presidency.”

Diana joined the club from her previous club in Essex during the Covid pandemic when meetings were carried out online.

She has become a very enthusiastic and valued member, and the club was delighted to vote her into presidency for 2023-4.

“I am very pleased to take on the role to lead the club for the coming year, and look forward to both the challenges and the friendship which are the spirit of Rotary,” Diana said.

She was equally pleased to pass her chain of office as president elect to Sarah, who has already hit the ground running with her involvement within the club.
