Spalding woman appeals for children's coats
A Spalding woman is supporting a campaign to make sure no child is left to struggle without a coat this winter.
Emma Steel has become the Lincolnshire Coordinator for Coats for Kids campaign after becoming moved by the plight of some youngsters in the region.
She is now appealing for donations of children’s coats along with collection points and, most importantly, nominations for families who need this service.

Ms Steel has been delighted with the response to the appeal since starting as coordinator a few weeks ago.
She said: "Since becoming the Lincolnshire coordinator, I have had a really positive response from local shops, who have all kindly taken leaflets and posters to give to their customers to let them know about us.
"The simple fact that some children are out there without a coat is just heart breaking.
"If we can change one person's life over the festive period then that will be really worthwhile."
The Coast for Kids initiative was launched in Northamptonshire on December 2 after Rai Morgan and a friend read how some children in Grimsby were going to school without coats.
After ringing one of her local schools, she discovered it was a significant problem and began this initiative over Facebook.
During the last month, the initiative has grown to cover 27 areas across England with an average of 15 drop-off points and hundreds of coats being donated.
Local shops 888 Vapour, Granz Angling, The Computer Shop, and Robert Goddard have agreed to support the campaign by putting up posters and leaflets.
Ms Steel said: "We accept donations of all children's coats, any age, that are in a useable condition. We then pass them onto children and families who need extra help this winter.
"I know some families will be embarrassed but if you know someone who doesn't feel like they can come forward please do it for them."
