Colette Law is believed to have died following a head injury, an inquest into her death was told.
The 26-year-old, of no fixed abode, was found dead at Spalding’s St Mary and St Nicolas Church on July 17.
She had been sleeping in the church grounds in a tent.
Spalding man Paul Nielson (30) has been charged with the death of Colette, who was originally from Greenock in Scotland.
A provisional trial date has been set for January.
The inquest was opened yesterday (Tuesday).
The body was formally identified by a fingerprint identification officer on July 18 and a formal statement confirming that identification has been provided to the coroner.
The reason for her death has been stated as ‘a head Injury, pending further tests’.
A full inquest will be held on January 16.
