Collision between oil tanker and lorry blocks A16 roundabout at Spalding

A major roundabout was blocked this morning after a collision between a lorry and an oil tanker.

Motorists have been experiencing tailbacks at Spalding’s Springfields roundabout, which connects the A16 and A151.

“We are dealing with reports of a collision involving a lorry and an oil tanker on the A151-A16,” a Lincolnshire Police statement read.

“The lorry is blocking the Low Fulney roundabout, which has been closed while waiting for vehicle recovery.

“Please avoid the area. Incident 66 of today.”

No injuries have been reported.

“The exits were blocked so they were redirecting traffic,” explained an eyewitness, who said it added 20 minutes to their journey.

“A policeman told me a lorry was blocking the roundabout and it caused long tailbacks.”
