Long Sutton Primary School colour run helps Friends raise cash for outdoor gym equipment
An action-packed school event saw pupils, parents and staff emerge in a burst of brilliant colours.
The Friends of Long Sutton Primary School put on a successful colour run on Friday – a fun event in which the school community came together to complete a course while being engulfed in vivid powders.
The combination made for a stunning spectacle. Deputy headteacher Rebecca Hales said: “There were plumes of red, orange, purple and blue as children and parents ran the course, with some covered head to toe!”
The event was staged as part of the push by the Friends to fund new outdoor gym equipment for the Dick Turpin Way school.
We recently reported on the fact that the group has raised just under £10,000 already for the cause – and has about £7,000 still left to make to get the apparatus wanted.
The equipment will be used to provide more ways for the children to stay active during the day.
Our photographer Chris Lowndes went along to capture the action of the colour run.
