South Holland District Council could lease land for battery boxes
Council land could be rented out for ‘battery stations’ if bosses give the green light.
South Holland District Council is considering leasing six sites within the area to be used as micro-energy stations.
AMP Clean Energy has been granted planning permission to construct a number of its ‘battery boxes’ at sites across the area in order to store power.
The council - which could generate an income of more than £75,000 by this decision, is considering renting out sites in the Donington, Quadring and Gosberton; Holbeach Town; Spalding Castle; Spalding St Paul's; Spalding Wygate wards.
The decision is due to be made by Coun Henry Bingham in the coming days.
