South Holland District Council's housing company donates £111,000 to charities
A housing company owned by South Holland District Council has donated its £111,000 year's profit to two charities.
Welland Homes was established in 2015 to increase housing supply in the area, to set high standards for design and improve the quality of rental accommodation.
Following a successful year, the company, which currently has 35 open market rental properties in its ownership, is forecast to make more than £100,000 in profits by March 31.
Citizens Advice South Lincolnshire will receive £84,000 and £27,000 will go to Community Voluntary Services, who build stronger and sustainable communities through engagement and promoting and supporting volunteering.
A Welland Homes Board spokesman said: “To be able to make a donation of this size is testament to the impact the company has had.
"We hope this money will make a real difference to the two charities and to all the people they help every single day.”
