Holbeach Town and Country Fayre returns on June 16 and 17 at a new venue
The organisers of a popular country show are promising a bigger event when it returns later this month in a new home.
Holbeach Town and Country Fayre is back on Saturday and Sunday, June 17 and 18, with arena events and a record amount of steam engines along with a host of stalls.
The 2023 event was looking in doubt at the end of last year after the previous venue had been sold - but thankfully Lincolnshire Field Products stepped into the breach to offer the organisers a new home in Fen Road.
Vice-chairman Barry Disdel said: “I would like to say a big thank you to Lincolnshire Field Products and Robin Hancox as without them this year’s show would not have happened.
“They have been fantastic and really helpful with their kind loan of the field.
“I have been going to the show since it started in Carter’s Park and to lose it would have been a massive blow, not just for those on the committee but also to those who come and enjoy it.
“A lot of people look forward to coming to the show. We had to keep it going for everyone.
“We are pleased that LFP came forward to help.”
One of the big attractions of this year’s event will be The Rockets Motorcycle Display Team which will be performing in the arena along with a remote control vehicle display.
Another special guest this year will be Farmer Joe, a ten-year-old boy from Lincolnshire who has appeared on a number of television shows, and some of his sheep. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is also due to be flying over the show on the Saturday and Sunday.
The event will also be supported by a record amount of steam engines - 45 are due to be in attendance along with 110 tractors as well as shire horses and vintage vehicles.
Vans 4 Life, which hit the headlines by driving past hospitals during Covid to show their support for medical staff, will also be displaying their vehicles along with Fenlanders 4x4.
Mr Didsdel said: “It is going to be a bigger event this year with lots more trade stalls and lots more for children.
“We have a few stock cars that children will be able to sit in.
“We are trying to get as many people from across the area to be involved as possible.”
Youngsters will also be able to enjoy a ride on a miniature railway. Entry is £9 per adult and free for under 16s.
