Tractor driver to return to his native Poland after being caught drink-driving in Spalding
A man caught drink-driving in Spalding is returning to his native Poland as he's lost his job as a tractor driver.
It was the second drink-drive offence in less than six years for Sebastian Antczak, who was banned from driving for 40 months.
Antczak (30), of Tytton Lane East, Wyberton, admitted the offence when he appeared at Boston Magistrates' Court.
The court was told that Antczak was stopped by police for poor driving in his Citroen at 6.25am on April 27 on the A16 at Spalding and was arrested following a positive breath test.
He gave a reading of 56 microgrammes of alcohol, the legal limit being 35.
The magistrates were told he had a previous conviction for drink driving in October 2013.
Mitigating, Andrew Osborne said Antczak had not drunk anything before setting off but did drink heavily the night before.
He said he had lost his job as a tractor driver as a result and planned to return to his native Poland as he could not get work here without a driving licence.
As well as being handed a driving ban, Antczak was fined £120 with £115 in costs and charges.
