South Holland Covid test site location revealed
South Holland's Covid test site will operate from an industrial unit in Pinchbeck.
The district's new asymptomatic testing site will be based in Four Seasons House, in Enterprise Way, and will be handing out packs of lateral flow tests from tomorrow.
The site is part of the Government's push to encourage everyone in the country to take two free tests a week.
It will be open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Mass testing is seen as a way of preventing further outbreaks and helping people to return to 'normal life'.
There were already asymptomatic testing sites set up in Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Horncastle, Lincoln, Louth, Skegness, Sleaford and Trusthorpe – but not one in South Holland until now.
As well as this new site - which is across the road from Woodhead Brothers abattoir - people will be able to order tests online and pick them up from some pharmacies.
People who have symptoms or who have a negative lateral flow test could still be sent for a ‘gold standard’ PCR Covid test at the mobile unit at the Fun Farm in Weston. This site is still set to be in operation until at least April 18.
South Holland still suffers from one of the highest Covid case rates in the country.
There have been 65 cases confirmed in the last seven days in South Holland. That’s down 37.5% on the previous week.
The case rate in the district is 89.5 per 100,000 people – the 13th highest in the country. The national rate is 37.3.
