Thousands of knitted flowers already made for 2023's parade
Thousands of knitted creations are pouring in as work begins on floats for the parade.
More than 5,000 flowers made from wool have been made by keen knitters across the district after a plea put out by organiser Stephen Timewell.
He said: “It’s just incredible to see them all and so many people want to make them for us. They’re just pouring in.
“Every single one is different and we also have butterflies coming in too.
“They are going on a float with a fairy house on it which I have built.”
For those who would like to get involved but don’t know where to begin, a free session will take place at Spalding Library on Friday, October 7.
People will be able to learn how to make the flowers and pick up knitting patterns from 10am to 12pm.
