Darts players at Lincoln Arms raise money for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance

Darts players at the Lincoln Arms were right on target with their fundraising, when they collected more than £600 for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.

Steve Stancer and his licensee wife Mandy organised the day-long event with friends' help at the Bridge Street pub.

Some 30 people took part - in 'blind pairs', so it was the luck of the draw who you were teamed up with and each player paid £5 to take part.

In the week before the event, an amazing 2,500 tickets were sold for a raffle, for which 35 prizes were donated, including a full carvery rib of beef, plus a sirloin of beef, which was split in two and auctioned.

Despite there being prize money for the winners and runners-up, all the cash was put back in the charity pot and a cheque for £626 was presented to air ambulance representative Heather Chambers.

Mandy added: "A big thank you to all our customers and all those who gave us raffle prizes."
