Decision on plans for £26million transformation of Spalding leisure centre delayed until next year
Planners will now not be deciding the fate of a £26million transformation of the ageing Castle Sports Complex until next year.
The bid to create a new South Holland Health and Wellbeing Hub at the Spalding leisure centre was hoped to go before the November meeting of the district’s planning committee.
However, South Holland District Council has cancelled the November meeting of its committee - which was due to be held next week - due to a ‘lack of business to be heard’.
A council spokesman said: “The application for the new South Holland Health & Wellbeing Hub is now expected to be taken to planning committee at the next available meeting in January.
“More information on these plans will be shared in the coming days.”
The Castle Sports Complex in Spalding is due to be getting a major revamp, which will include new swimming pools and 3G pitches, after securing a £20million Levelling Up grant last year.
