Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge Motorbike Group raise money for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance and the 8:56 Foundation with event at The Ship




A bikers’ fundraiser gained the support of lots of people and raised over £1,000 for a charity close to their heart.

Over 50 members of the Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge Motorbike Group attended The Ship pub last weekend to raise money for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance service and the 8:56 Foundation, who offer mental health support for men.

Organiser Chris Mccabe said: “ It was absolutely brilliant, there are a lot of bikers in the group who have had friends be airlifted and used the air ambulance services.

“We raised a lot more money than we were expecting, which is just fantastic.”

The event included a charity raffle which raised £591.34 for Lincs Notts Air Ambulance and £591.34 for the 8:56 Foundation.

Chris said: “It was really overwhelming on the day – it was absolutely incredible, we couldn't have asked for any better.

“We would also like to say a big thankyou to Polly Collyer who is the owner of pub, as she let us hold the event there."

Chris and other members of the motorbike group are already planning their next fundraiser events, where they hope to raise money for some other charities.
