Long Sutton Men's Shed members restore dovecote in Hilary's memory

Members of Long Sutton Men's Shed helped a colleague restore a dovecote in memory of his wife, who passed away five years ago.

Shed founder member Jim Stalley bought the bird house from Silverwood Nursery at Sutton Crosses in 2008 as a present for his wife Hilary.

Ever since it has been hanging up in their garden, but was starting to need some tender loving care.

Fellow Shedder Frank Heinrich-Tiller helped Jim get it down and it was taken to the Shed for restoration.

Jim did most of the work but other Shedders helped with the new roof, roof felt and a new finial. Master painter Mike Norris worked his magic with his final touches.
