Braving the rain at Moulton Park Country Fair
Downpours failed to dampen the enthusiasm of Moulton Park Country Fair and Horse Show organisers for future events.
Although this year's show at Bell Lane made a loss, a date has already been booked for 2020.
Rain falling prior to the event meant the classic car display had to be cancelled as the vehicles would not have been able to enter the field, and fewer tractors turned up than usual.
A heavy horse show and a dog show, entertainers walking around the site and two live bands, Hot Wired and Pegla, had all been laid on.
Chair of the organising committee Carl Wright said: "There was quite a poor turnout. It was mainly due to the bad weather and a couple of unhelpful comments on our Facebook page.
"We just carried on. We made a loss this year because we had to pay out insurance and other things, but it's not stopped us doing it next year."
Money raised goes towards Moulton Seas End Ward Recreation Trust, to help the upkeep of the playing field.
The 2018 event – which was moved from its regular September spot – was also dogged by dull weather, however Mr Wright was optimistic about future events.
He said: "It's the 24th year, I think, this year and every time we've had two rough years of weather we've had four good years of weather.
"We'll hope that remit will return next year. It's the one thing we can't control."
