Live from the Drive-in concerts featuring Sigala, Kaiser Chiefs, The Streets, The Zutons, Beverley Knight and more are cancelled at the Lincolnshire Showground

A series of high profile concerts, which would have seen a host of stars performing live at drive-in concerts at the Lincolnshire Showground and other venues, have been cancelled.

As reported by Spalding Today last month, big names including DJ Sigala, Russell Watson, Kaiser Chiefs, The Streets, The Brand New Heavies, Ash, The Zutons, KT Tunstall, Beverley Knight and many more were set to perform at the showground just outside Lincoln from July 23.

The Utilita Live from the Drive-in concerts would have kicked off with a performance by ex-Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley and followed by Abba tribute Bjorn Again on the same night.

DJ Sigala was among the names due to appear at the Live from the Drive-in concerts.

Organised by live entertainment company Live Nation, with sponsor Utilita, the events have been cancelled due to the risk of localised lockdowns.

A statement received by the Lincolnshire Showground from organisers Live Nation reads:

"The Live From The Drive-In concert series will no longer proceed as planned this summer. We received huge support from artists, the live music production contractors, our headline sponsor Utilita along with our other partners, and of course you, the fans.

"However, the latest developments regarding localised lockdowns mean it has become impossible for us to continue with the series with any confidence.

"We thank everyone for their support and eagerly await a time when we can watch live music together again. Full refunds will be issued directly to all ticket holders within the next 7 days.”

The events were due to be toured at 12 cities around the country, including London, this summer.
