Man charged with causing death by dangerous driving and other offences after A16 Kirton fatal accident




A 37-year-old motorist has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal accident on the A16 near Kirton on Friday evening.

Billy Kinsella,, of Hook Road, Goole, has also been charged with causing serious injury whilst dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday).

A 76-year-old woman died following the collision between the Sutterton and Kirton roundabouts at about 9.47pm, leading to the road being closed for more than 12 hours.

The crash involved Kinsella's BMW 420 which was travelling towards Spalding and a silver Toyota Yaris which was heading towards Boston.

The passenger in the Toyota died as a result of the collision, while the driver - a 72-year-old woman - was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
