A16 closed as driver cut from vehicle after crashing into fence
A driver had to be cut from their car after crashing into a fence this weekend.
The incident occurred on the A16 at around 7pm on Saturday evening.
South Lincolnshire residents saw their journeys affected by the closure of the road, following in the incident near Newborough, which crews from Thorney and Dogsthorpe attended.
“The driver had come off of the road and into a fence,” a statement issued by Thorney Community Fire & Rescue Station said.
“Crews worked hard to remove the roof whilst keeping the casualty safe ready for rescue from the vehicle.
“The casualty was safely removed and with the assistance of the ambulance crews, they were taken to hospital for immediate care.
“Please be careful driving, especially on high risk roads.”
