Spalding High School students 'ecstatic' with A level results
There were happy faces and celebratory ice creams at Spalding High School when students joined together.
The pupils had received their results prior to popping along to the school where they were able to see their friends and teachers to mark the day.
Sweet treats from Laddies of Holbeach were lapped up as the youngsters swapped grades.
Georgie Van Dyke was a top performer with four A* grades in chemistry, maths, further maths and physics. She's now looking forward to going to the University of Cambridge.
"It's been a crazy morning," she said.
"I'm just so excited to be here and to see everyone after a nerve-racking couple of days.
"I can't wait to get to Cambridge now. I already know a few people there but I'm really looking forward to meeting other people - it's something I really love.
"I'm going to study natural sciences which gives me lots of choice as the course goes on."
Fellow student Holly Ray also did very well.
Holly was one mark away from three A* results, but she's still very pleased with two A*s and an A.
She said: "I'm really happy because I didn't think I would do as well as that.
"I'm hoping to go to Loughborough next year to study business management because that's the one subject that I really enjoyed."
Lucy Blackbourn was 'over the moon' with her results.
Lucy achieved two A* grades and an A which means she will be able to go to her dream university next month.
She said: "I was preparing for the worse and I was awake until 4am but I am over the moon.
"I really wanted to study economics so I was working really hard to get the grades I needed.
"I would love to be a risk manager in the future as I love my stats and maths.
"I'm so relieved. Loughborough is my dream university so I'm so happy."
Jennifer Burke said she wasn't expecting her results - three A*s and an A - but she was so pleased with what they meant.
She said: "I'm ecstatic. I wasn't expecting it - I expected to get some Bs.
"I think after the exam straight away you think about what went wrong so that's why I thought I wouldn't do that well."
Jennifer is now heading to the University of Bath the study pharmacy and tonight she will be celebrating with her family by enjoying a takeaway.
After a last minute decision on which university course would be right for her, Grace Seaton burst into tears when she saw her long awaited grades.
Grace had previously aimed at joining an optometry course before realising that accountancy and finance was what she wanted to do.
She opened her grades to find an A*, A and B - which means she can go to the University of York to join her dream course.
She said: "I can't believe it. I was so nervous but now I feel really excited.
"My family and I are going to Blakeney for a meal tonight with lots of champagne!"
Izzy Nicholson is taking the next step towards achieving her dream of working in forensics after achieving two As and an A*.
She's off to Nottingham Trent University where she will study forensic psychology.
Friend Mollie Pitts-Jeffery is looking forward to going to the University of Sussex after gaining two A* results and a B.
Mollie said: "I'm going to study psychology because I enjoy it and find it really interesting.
"I really want to help other people."
The girls, who were celebrating with their friends, said that they were all really proud of each other.
