2023 Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards winners announced




The winners of the 2023 Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards have been announced this evening.

A ceremony held at the Springfields Events Centre in Spalding saw the ‘top of the class’ crowned in a host of different categories.

The full list of winners were:

*PreSchool of the Year, sponsored and judged by Riverside Training, was won by Moulton Harrox Pre School and Out of School Club.

Runners up were BeBright Pre School and Lilliput Day Nursery

*The Environmental Champion category, which is sponsored and judged by South Holland District Council, was won by Spalding Academy for its Eco-Council and Prom Initiatives

Runners up were Wygate Park Academy

*Contribution to the Community, sponsored and judged by Bakkavor, was won by Thomas Middlecott Academy

Runners up were Spalding Grammar School’s Parents and Friends Association and Spalding High School’s High Q Magazine Team

*Outstanding Sporting Achievement, sponsored and judged by Snap Fitness, was won by Isla Saterlay, of Spalding High School

Runners up were Leah Barker and Willow Gill – both fellow Spalding High School students

*Primary School Pupil of the Year, sponsored and judged by Worldwide Fruit, was won by Elliot Withers, of Gosberton Academy.

Runner up was Roelan Rishan, also of Gosberton Academy

*The Secondary School Student of the Year category. sponsored and judged by headline sponsor Duncan & Toplis, was won by Kiya Clark, of Spalding Academy

Runners up were Matthew Harper, of Cowley Academy, and Zion Serino-Jordan, of Bourne Academy

*Support Staff Member of the Year, sponsored and judged by Calthrops Solicitors, was scooped by Karen Chapman of Kirton Primary School

Runners up were Nicky Marks, of Spalding Academy, and Stephanie Arden, of Bourne Academy

*Inspirational Primary School Teacher of the Year, sponsored and judged by Springfields Outlet and Shopping Centre, was won by Rachel Clements of St John the Baptist School

Runners up were Alice Keeling, of Gosberton Academy, and Louise Lewis, of Kirton Primary School

*The Inspirational Secondary School Teacher of the Year category, supported by our parent company Iliffe Media, was won by Gemma Sanderson, of Bourne Academy

Runners up were Penny Watt, of Spalding Academy, and Ruth Baldwin, of Thomas Middlecott Academy

*The Primary School of Year title, sponsored and judged by Greencore, went to Wygate Park Academy

Runners up are Gosberton Academy and St John the Baptist CofE School

*The Secondary School of the Year crown, again supported by our parent company Iliffe Media, was awarded to Bourne Academy

Runners up were Spalding Academy and Spalding High School

The night was also supported by Charmed Interiors and Bookmark.
