South Holland District Council candidates make their pitch for your votes on May 4
The candidates vying for seats on South Holland District Council are hoping to persuade you to give them your vote when we go to the polls this Thursday.
They submitted 100 word pitches, which we are printing below to help you to make your choice:
Crowland and Deeping St James (three seats)
Bryan Alcock (Ind)
I have lived and worked in the ward all my life and enjoyed the privilege of representing you for many years as an Independent using a common sense approach. I am dedicated to the task and will do my very best to keep South Holland a good place to live. I will fight to get a fairer deal for the parishes and ask for your vote please.
Jim Astill (Con)
Since 2015, I have been one of your district councillors, supporting many residents with a range of matters such as antisocial behaviour, housing and planning. Through my ward budget, I have helped fund projects from church roofs to new play equipment and interactive speed signs. It’s vital that a fantastic community such as ours retains access to key services while being a safe environment for us all to live. With your support, I will continue to work hard, as I have since 2015, to make our council more efficient but resisting measures that impact important front- line services.
Amy Cook-Nykyforczuk (Green)
I am pleased and proud to be have been selected as your Green Party candidate for the Crowland and Deeping St Nicholas ward in the 4th May Election. If I am elected as your councillor, I will be extremely visible. I will work my hardest to establish better transport links with a better bus service, including weekends and bank holidays, and to get the railway station reopened so that people become less reliant on cars. I am also extremely passionate about protecting our green spaces for future generations. A vote for me is a vote for change.
Angie Harrison (Con)
Since 2005, I have been a governor at the primary school, a parish councillor, parish clerk for Crowland and for Deeping St Nicholas; a role that I have held since 2016. I represented Crowland and Deeping St Nicholas Ward for 12 years between 2007 and 2019 and was able to assist many parishioners with their concerns. Using my ward budget, I was able to provide funding to numerous local groups and projects, which benefitted the wider community. I promise to keep myself up to date with local issues and to speak out for what is right for our local communities.
Donington and Quadring (three seats)
Henry Bingham (Con)
I’m again asking for your support so I can continue to make sure the villages are not forgotten, that funding comes our way and the villages get the recognition they deserve. Being involved in numerous local groups I see and hear the problems and with your support I can voice these concerns. I believe in putting the work in not just emails but actually getting things done. I will continue to put in the time and work for us all. With your support I can help improve and maintain the area WE live in, making sure YOUR concerns are heard.
Margaret Geaney (Con)
I am a true Lincolnshire “yellow belly” being born in Gosberton, attended Gosberton primary and Spalding High schools. I have lived in other parts of the country due to work and family, but have retired to what I still call home. I have a passion for serving the community, having in my time been a guide leader, parish councilor and unity authority councillor, and now involved with the Methodist Church and trustee for Gosberton Youth Centre. I now want to bring my past experience to maintain and improve South Holland and especially the ward I hope to represent.
Colin Johnson (Con)
For many years I worked with councils all around the country helping them deliver high quality services to residents. As a long-term resident of Donington I am excited at the prospect of using my experience to support the people who live in the Donington, Quadring and Gosberton ward. There has been considerable change in the ward particularly in respect of population growth and I want to ensure that ward residents get the services they both need and deserve. I would welcome the opportunity to represent the community and area I live in.
Jane King (SH Ind)
I have been a district councillor for 12 years. In that time I have supported many local groups and organisations, worked hard to get the library open, the post office open, become part of the parish council, a governor at the primary and high school and much more. I have lived, worked and shopped locally which I feel is important when representing you.
Matthew Swainson (Reform)
Having led local and national chapters of Round Table (young Rotarians) when I lived overseas, I understand the demands and satisfaction of helping people. My wife and I have recently moved to our “forever home” in Gosberton, so it seemed like the right time to get back into public service. Although I never had any political ambitions, I have become so dismayed with the state of politics and politicians in the UK lately that as a passionate DIY-er I wanted to step up and challenge the status quo, by serving the people of Donington, Quadring and Gosberton with Reform UK.
Simon Walsh (SH Ind)
I have lived in Donington with my wife Carol since 1996 and have been an Independent district councillor since 2019, having retired from Gosberton Medical Centre, where I worked as Practice Manager for 12 years. Having lived and worked in my ward area for many years, it has been a privilege to be able to be your local representative at SHDC. It is important that your views/concerns are supported Independently without any political bias.
Fleet (one seat)
Paul Barnes (SH Ind)
I have always enjoyed being involved with the people and area of where I live. Shortly after moving here, I joined Fleet Parish Council and have been chairman for the last three years. I think I have encouraged some differences in how things are now done and I would like your vote so I can try to make bigger differences at district level for Fleet Parish. The Parish is the People - I would like to be your voice.
Edward McNally (Con)
Having lived in Fleet for many years, I have enjoyed becoming a part of the community and village. Last year I was part of the committee that arranged the fabulous Jubilee party in the park and this year I am looking forward to the Coronation Celebrations. I have been an active member in the village, having served on the parish council for the past four years, where we deal with many matters. I can do more by becoming your representative on the district council and ask for your support to enable me to achieve this and become you’re for Fleet.
Gedney (one seat)
Jo Reynolds (Con)
Since 2015 I am privileged to have been the district councillor for Gedney and during this time I have helped many residents with local issues. Through my ward budget I have helped fund projects from defibrillators to play parks and much more. It is vital that a community such as ours retains access to services and remains a safe environment for us to live. I am part of a great team at parish and district level and if I am fortunate to be re-elected I will continue to support the parish and make it a great place to live.
Matthew Stancer (SH Ind)
I believe that national politics has no place in local government. As a business owner I very keen to see the district become a more viable and vibrant place to live. This improves the possibility of recruitment and quality of life locally. If you would like to see change please vote for an independent candidate.
Holbeach Hurn (one seat)
Wendy Blackman (Green) - no words submitted
Nick Worth (Con)
I am a big advocate of green energy and support the trial and roll out of the new, less visible Ventum Wind Turbines. I will help to enable a hydrogen plant in the district to provide green fuel for lorries. I also support solar panels on roofs, both commercial and domestic but I will NOT support solar farms that take prime agricultural land out of food production. I will continue to work with the Holbeach Medical Centre to build new medical facilities in Holbeach and support the village halls, schools and clubs in the Hurn Ward. VOTE NICK WORTH
Holbeach Town (three seats)
Francis Biggadike (Ind)
Four more years has passed us by, I do the best and always try, It’s time for you to make your choice I would love to continue to be your voice, Forever there will be things to do to you all I am ever true, You may not agree with all I say at times there is no other way, Should you meet me in the street just say ‘Hello’ I’ll gladly greet, Be ye rich or be ye poor just then lay your problems at my door, Just one more line to add to this come the fourth of May I would love your X
Tracey Carter (Con)
I am asking for your support so I can continue to work hard for you and Holbeach, in my well-known unique style with passion, drive, commitment and care. Holbeach is in a good place. We are lucky to have a fabulous place to live and work but there is more to do. With your support, I can continue to be a strong voice, fighting hard for the very best and always ensuring I put you first. I always act and deliver, having fresh ideas with the ability and know how to make things happen. I will not let you down.
Malcolm Chandler (Con)
I am committed to use my broad experience and skills gained previously serving as a district councillor, for the benefit of Holbeach, my local town for over 20 years. Having studied with the Local Government Association at Warwick University I gained many skills which I have put into practice locally. I have chaired the licensing authority, served as deputy leader of the cabinet. Understanding views and thoughts of residents’ I am keen to tackle local environmental issues having worked actively on the issues which impact our daily lives.
Nanette Chapman (Con)
Many of you know me from my years in Holbeach Rotary Club, supporting the grotto, Christmas Fair, and working with local groups on Santa runs. Others more recently while volunteering in the wonderful Memory Lane, which I hope to help revive if we manage to secure a suitable local venue. As a resident, seeing the changes in Holbeach over the last few years is inspiring, it’s fast regaining its previous reputation as a vibrant, attractive friendly town where its a pleasure to live, my intention is to help and support my town continue to move forward, and thrive.
Paul Foyster (SH Ind)
Holbeach needs much better representation at district level, concentrating on essential infrastructure improvements and a fair share of funding. That requires a South Holland Independent administration in South Holland. I have the experience and skills needed and the willingness to loudly speak out for our town. It’s high time for change.
Sophie Hutchinson (SH Ind)
I am actively engaged in my community; organising events, enhancing open spaces, and championing local issues like infrastructure. I believe local government should be about local people, not politics. As a new face with fresh ideas, I’m determined to bring about positive change in Holbeach and South Holland.
Graham Rudkin (Ind)
Once again I will be standing for Holbeach Town in the elections having lived in Holbeach for over 50 years my children and grandchildren educated in local schools. I think its important that as a councillor I support our schools and children so if elected will do so. Many comments have been made about the infrastructure in Holbeach and hope to address some of these issues and press the NHS,Lincolnshire County Council and Anglia Water to be more transparent. I have been honoured to have been elected as a district councillor for the last four years and ask for your vote.
Long Sutton (three seats)
Andrew Tennant (Ind)
My only motive in standing is to give the Long Sutton ward, the place where I love to live , a strong voice at South Holland. ‘Time for change ‘ is an often used slogan but really does apply in this election - the Conservative run council has simply become too ‘corporate’ - focussing on partnerships, devolution deals and spending eye-watering amounts on consultancy fees with a ‘strategic advisor‘ rather than working to improve the services for our residents. Only an independent candidate can freely represent you - more common sense less politician.
David Thompson (Con)
Better known as Ivan, born in Holbeach where I’m better known through the family businesses. I have lived in Long Sutton for 16 years. Where I have been doing community projects since 2012.Over the past year I have been involved in over 14 community projects. So now is the time to give the commitment needed to serve the community I care about.
Jack Tyrrell (Con)
I have represented Long Sutton Ward for these past eight years, and in those years I have built a Mens Shed that now boast over 100 members, The Garden Waste Collection & The Youth Shed. I have used my council budget to help over 44 clubs, schools & parish councils. I attend all three parish council meeting and unless I have a meeting on the same night I never miss one. I spend a minimum of 16 hours a week on council business, from email from resident to council business, I’m on Planning, Licencing, & Performance Scrutiny Panels.
David Wilkinson (Ind)
I have been a local councillor for 16 years, for over 10 years I have also been the chairman of Lutton Parish Council. I am passionate about our community and strive to make a difference. I am always pushing for a fairer distribution of funds within the district. Our parishes and small towns need funding to help them grow and flourish. I have over the past four years supported many local groups, in Long Sutton, Lutton & Tydd. I have been involved with the setup of the new Youth Shed in Long Sutton, which is proving a great success.
Moulton, Weston and Cowbit (three seats)
Anthony Casson (Con)
I have lived in Weston Hills all my life, retired and have represented the residents of our six villages as a district councillor for the last 16 years. I enjoy the role and attend lots of meetings. My attendance record is 100% I am kept busy with ward issues, fly tipping is a big problem I’m pleased we have got an outside firm to help with the situation. Our budget money is a big help for us to give grants to local organisations in our villages. I hope for your support on the 4th of May.
Rodney Grocock (Con)
It’s been an honour and a privilege to serve the good people of the Moulton, Weston and Cowbit for 14 years. I was born and raised in Moulton Seas End, until at the age of 15 when I joined the Royal Navy. My heart has always been in South Holland and, if re-elected on the of 4th of May, I will continue to do my very best tackling local issues and supporting community-based projects. Please vote Grocock on the 4th of May so I can continue my work in supporting residents of the ward of Moulton, Weston and Cowbit.
Thomas Sneath (SH Ind)
It’s a great privilege being a parish councillor in the parish I love & I feel it’s time I need to make their voices heard. Being independent enables me to support cross party projects but question decisions that go against our local values. One project I’m proud to support is Moulton Seas End Youth Club, as I feel all volunteers within the villages are our unsung heroes. With your confidence I will continue to assist, support & champion their selflessness.
Andrew Woolf (Con)
Living in Moulton for 27 years, I am at the heart of the ward. As current district and a parish councillor, I value every person within the six villages I represent. Without your support, especially at election time, I do not have the honour of serving and representing the people within the Moulton, Weston and Cowbit Ward. Having met many constituents, the key element for this election is local, not National. I seek your vote as a local district councillor who always puts resident’s views before anything else. I hope to continue doing so by securing your vote.
Pinchbeck and Surfleet (three seats)
James Avery (Con)
I am privileged to represent the residents of Pinchbeck and Surfleet, getting involved with a wide range of concerns. Local people have local issues and I listen carefully to understand how and where I can help, and work hard to bring about resolution. I care about our communities and strive to maintain the best of what we have, and will continue to challenge negative aspects of our society such as anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping, housing and planning issues. Liz, Sally and I share the workload, speak up on behalf of our residents and deliver positive improvements from our Designated Ward Budgets.
Simon Jenkins (Green)
A father to three daughters, I have lived with my wife Lisa in South Holland since 2019. I have been a Green Party member since 2005 when I undertook a degree in Environmental management. The issues at stake locally mirror those for the whole country and include the need to protect rural spaces and to reduce our carbon footprint. This is primarily so that we don’t see a constant repeat of the potentially devastating effects of climate change we are experiencing. It’s not a lost cause but will soon be irreversible for future generations to whom we all have a responsibility.
Terry Moore (Ind)
I am passionate about our local community and am confident I can provide our ward an Independent voice at South Holland District Council as an effective alternative to a party-political councillor who will vote for whatever their party wants instead of what is good for our community. Pinchbeck, West Pinchbeck and Surfleet each have a strong community spirit, and it is important that this be maintained, preserving the character of these three individual villages and resist them from being integrated into the wider Spalding area.
Sally Slade (Con)
I live in the ward, work in Spalding and have been your district councillor since 2011. I have campaigned against unsuitable development, worked for local groups, advised individuals, and supported local businesses. If I am your councillor again, I will always work energetically for all the residents in the ward. I am not afraid to speak out on your behalf. I aim to preserve the best of the present, whilst providing for the future. I don’t want our rural area urbanised but I do want local people to have somewhere to live. Thanking you in advance for voting for me.
Elizabeth Sneath (Con)
I have worked hard for residents since first being elected in 2011 and have the enthusiasm and drive to continue. The many initiatives I have been involved with have made a difference locally, including our first Community Wood, restoring Heritage Assets, using my Councillor Budget to help fund defibrillators and supporting volunteer groups. Our rural way of life is incredibly important to me, celebrating the best of the past while working towards an exciting future for South Holland. Born in Pinchbeck, my local knowledge and life experience is vital in my role and being reliable and accessible helps too!
Spalding Castle (one seat)
Martin Blake (Green)
I’ve lived in Spalding Castle for many years, and share the disappointment of many local residents that we’ve been poorly served. Traffic, and hence air pollution, continue to increase, aided by the present council’s determination to see more housing on every available open space. Parts of our town centre look run-down and neglected. The views of residents are regularly ignored. The need for change is urgent. As a councillor, I will work hard alongside local people to improve our area, and bring a more imaginative approach to solving our problems.
Gary Taylor (Con)
I am asking you to re-elect me as your district councillor, because living in the centre of the ward I am proud to see how our communities became stronger during the pandemic. I support our weekly waste collection and want to see more enforcement for the minority that do not respect our laws. This ward will be the location of the new leisure facility. I am also delighted to see the Flower parade return. I am fully aware of the issues and challenges we faces and I believe I have the experience, energy and enthusiasm to work with you to improve the place we are proud to call home.
Spalding Monkshouse (two seats)
Sam Chauhan (SH Ind)
I’ve lived in Monkshouse ward for over 15 years, worked in SHDC housing department and for Lincolnshire County Council Education services. I worked alongside the late Angela Newton on safer street lighting down Pennygate and Monks House park as well as supporting Independent councillors initiatives on No Fly Tipping and keeping Spalding clean. Currently doing Tai Chi health and well being classes in the town centre. Ingrid and I are the only two candidates that live in the ward, please vote for your local candidate.
Val Gemmell (Con)
Formerly a true independent I now look forward to working with a party recognised by Westminster. Seat of Government. The Conservative party is now more democratic, developing, supporting local issues and communities. Working with neighbouring district councils, becoming more sustainable. Accessing monies. My background as a councillor and volunteer in South Holland before and after moving into Spalding ensures I have the knowledge, experience if elected to work together, communicating, sharing our future ideas for individuals, ward, town and South Holland.
Ingrid Sheard (SH Ind)
I believe in listening to the local community, to bring us together to work for better lives for us all. I want to ensure our environment is not lost to all the new housing flying up around us without any infrastructure. It is important that local amenities are considered to support living our lives to the fullest. Sam and I are the only two candidates that live in the ward, please vote for your local candidate. Together we are stronger!
Stephen Timewell (Con)
Steve is the Conservative candidate for Monks House and is defending his current seat there. Steve is probably best known as the person who has managed to bring back the Spalding Flower Parade and raise over £80,000 to pay for it. When he’s not organising this huge event, he’s busy working hard for his local residents and fighting for issues that matter to them. His biggest project at the moment is the replacement of the pavilion on the Monks House Playing Field. He’s campaigning to replace it with a new community centre that includes new football facilities, a youth club and community hub.
Spalding St John’s (two seats)
Manzur Hasan (SH Ind)
As a local councillor I have been working extensively on issues that affect our community over the past years and I hope to continue this in the future . As an independent councillor I will not follow any political party’s agenda neither will I make any empty promises. I will do my best for all areas in my constituency.
James Le Sage (SH Ind)
I believe there is no place for party politics at local level, people before politics always. I will represent my ward to the best of my ability and with help from my independent colleagues work for a better future for the area and its residents as a whole.
Ann Savage (Con)
I’ve lived locally and worked in the food industry for over 25 years. I am a member of our parish council where I’ve been involved in purchasing play equipment for local parks, Speedwatch, organising Jubilee celebrations and other initiatives to support the local community. I have the time, energy and vision along with business experience to make a real difference for the community. I will listen to people, raise their issues and concerns and be committed to serving them and striving to make South Holland a better place to both live and work. Please support me.
Edward Sneath (Con)
I grew up near Pinchbeck in a farming family and have worked in the food industry locally for over a decade. I have an appreciation for how important food production is to our community, jobs and local economy. Now living and working in the centre of our town at The Sessions House, on the edge of St John’s Ward, I see the issues that I believe need focus, and I want to see this area flourish. If elected, I will be active in supporting the change and improvement Spalding needs to be a place we can enjoy and take pride in.
Spalding St Mary’s (Two seats)
Dave Ashby (SH Ind)
I have eight years experience as an ex-Tory councillor and no longer want to be told how to vote. So little has happened over these four years that the Independents must become the people for change, action and progress, and I hope to become part of that change. For safe hands vote ASHBY Independent.
William Hayes (Con)
It would be a great privilege to represent St Mary’s ward on the district council. Being born and raised in South Holland, its people and their priorities are near and dear to my heart. I have a broad experience in engaging with and working for the people of Spalding, having been doing so from a very young age. This has given me a good grasp of the responsibilities which come with representing local people and an understanding of the issues affecting them. You have two votes, please vote for Gary and I.
Mark Le Sage (SH Ind)
Community should be about positivity and togetherness. I’ve always done my best to support our local communities and I will endeavour to do whatever I can to help the people of South Holland. Together we can make a difference, so let’s be a part of something great.
Gary Porter (Con)
Residents of Spalding St Mary’s trusted me with their vote for the last 12 years, I am asking them to do that again. With their support I’ve been able to lead the team that remains one of the few in the country that can empty the bins every week, none of our neighbours manage this. Minus the drainage board precept that we have to charge, we would be the second cheapest council tax setting council in the country. The choice is simple, if you want the best bin service and the cheapest council tax, please vote for William and Gary.
Spalding St Paul’s (two seats)
Bailey Boulding (SH Ind)
I currently live in the ward with my partner and two young children. Throughout my time in the area, I have come to learn the wants, needs, and interests of our local people and believe that it is time that these are reflected within our council. I would love the opportunity to work alongside our residents to improve the standards and provisions of the area.I firmly believe that local knowledge is essential and that local councils should have us, the PEOPLE at its heart. If elected I will work tirelessly to ensure that our local interests are put first.
Rob Gibson (SH Ind)
It has been my pleasure to represent Spalding St Paul’s for the last four years. In that time I have achieved many things from bins, to pot holes, yellow lines, COVID help, flower delivery, Christmas present delivery, Fulney bells and more. This time you have the opportunity to vote for two of us, please vote for Bailey with the confidence that he will work as hard as I will over the next four years. Please vote for your South Holland Independent candidates to enable us to support you locally.
Glynis Scalese (Con)
I am very proud to represent the residents of St Paul’s. I have enjoyed meeting many people and supporting many groups with funds from my council budget. I know it’s a difficult and challenging time for some people at present and when re-elected, I will use my caring and compassionate skills to make improvements to our areas, environment, and quality of life. I have a positive and friendly approach and work all year round to achieve good outcomes for my residents in St Paul’s. I am hardworking, reliable, attentive, and adaptive and understand the needs of the residents.
Christopher Sutton (Con)
I am asking to be elected as a district councillor as I feel I can make a difference to where I live. Having a younger person on the council will make a difference and widen the view of what is happening in our great area. I hope you are able to support me and elect Glynis and myself on the 4th May.
Spalding Wygate (two seats)
Aidan Forman (Lab)
I’ve lived in South Holland my entire life, originally in Holbeach before moving to Spalding Wygate in 2016, where I live with my wife, young daughter and dog. I am standing as I became increasingly frustrated with our current councillors. So I decided to take some positive action to try and make a difference for the local community. I have a real passion for this anyway having worked in the charity sector the majority of my professional career. If elected I will be the true voice for the people, a proactive, collaborative, pragmatic, diligent and action focussed councillor who listens.
Roger Gambba-Jones (Con)
A district councillor for Spalding Wygate for 24 years, I’ve seen it change dramatically. My roles within SHDC helped me oversee new areas of development and keep a close eye on the established areas of our ward. A few examples: Steppingstone Footbridge anti-social behaviour and faulty lighting, Park Road everlasting road works. Preventing Woolram Wygate to Monks House Lane and Holland Park becoming Spalding’s relief road, improved areas of landscaping, an outdoor gym installed. Challenges still remain though: the open space, play equipment and roadways at Wygate Park and a secure dog walking area wanted at Park Close.
Aaron Spencer (SH Ind)
It is an honour to stand alongside the South Holland Independents. Having attended the local school and now run a business in the town I felt it only right to use my 12 years’ experience in local government to give back to the town which I have called home for 31 years. I have been a party member for most of my political life locally, however experience and time have taught me that party politics are not the best thing for the town. I feel a strong independent council will put the needs and wants of the local people first. It is time we took back control!
Jan Whitbourn (Con)
I have lived in the area for over 20 years and worked as a volunteer for most of that time. I will look forward to the opportunity of using my skills and experience to promote pride in the community and dealing with issues which are the concerns of the residents. Prime examples of my volunteering are the Pride Awards, Remembrance Parades, Railway Station Gardens and the South Holland Ambassadors. I’ll support the quality of life and well-being of this ward and continue to work alongside environmental services to help reduce unpleasant behaviour of fly tipping, speeding and all issues which are important to you.
Sutton Bridge (two seats)
Michael Booth (SH Ind)
I have been a parish and district councillor for Sutton Bridge for a number of years. I live and work in the ward which makes me best placed to represent you as an Independent councillor. I have been working to get investment in our parish to provide well paid jobs. I am also concerned about the amount of harassment and bullying that has taken place and I will do my best to stamp it out.
Chris Brewis (SH Ind)
I want to see our district working hard for every single town and village in South Holland. We need to attract even more job creating firms to our whole area. I wish to see better recreation facilities throughout our district. The district needs to listen to the residents much more.
Peter Coupland (Con)
With many years of local council experience, Peter looks to represent the residents of Sutton Bridge and Wingland by creating a fresh approach with community involvement at the heart of all matters. Above all Peter will work to create a better ‘stance’ in the South Holland district for the Sutton Bridge area to ensure it will be a great place to live, work and play. Peter feels the area has not been represented at the South Holland District Council to its maximum and will be looking to enhance that situation if elected. Sutton Bridge and Wingland will be his priority.
Laurence Marchant (Con)
For most of my working life, I was a project manager overseeing many different types of projects. I am used to working to deadlines and completing tasks on time. This is the experience I will bring to the residents of Sutton Bridge when dealing with local issues, such as antisocial behaviour. It is important that parks and recreation amenities are suitable for all ages and abilities. Other concerns such as speeding in the village, dog fouling and other local issues which have been brought to my attention. I am looking forward to working with you to build a better Sutton Bridge.
The Saints (one seat)
Laura Eldridge (Con)
I am proud to live & work within our ward. This is so important to me - it means I walk the same paths, use the same roads, local shops & services as you so I know the area well. I feel strongly that everyone that lives in Gedney Hill, Sutton St. James, Sutton St. Edmund & Throckenholt needs someone to represent them within SHDC with a strong voice & determination. If I am lucky enough to secure your vote & be elected I will ensure you are informed & that I am accessible to you. Please Vote Laura Eldridge.
Michael Seymour (Ind)
If re- elected for the Saints ward I will continue to serve the people of the ward and the whole community of South Holland District Council who request my help. I believe in: Small sustainable developments in rural communities to maintain an enjoyable country life for everybody. A clean and safe environment for all. The maintenance of weekly collection of household waste and recyclables. Good and affordable housing for all. Ensuring South Holland District Council offers value for money for all its residents. I don’t believe in making promises that I cannot keep. if re-elected I will continue to do my best for you.
Whaplode and Holbeach St John’s (two seats)
Allan Beal (Con)
I live in Whaplode and am standing for re-election in order to continue serving the community and representing the people of Whaplode and Holbeach St Johns. I endeavour to balance the needs of the individual and those of the wider community. Having served on the local Citizens Advice and drainage boards, I am aware of the complexities of living in a rural ward. However, being a councillor is about being active within the community and helping the local groups and people. As such I have been active with each of the village halls and many of their groups. Thank you.
Harry Griffen (SH Ind)
I am a 10 year paramedic who has devoted his working life to my local community within 999 response and also community groups and voluntary work. I work with the Army Cadet Force, the St John ambulance, LIVES & Scouts. I want to give a voice to the local person without the bias of a political party.
Paul Redgate (Con)
Having lived here for many years and supporting numerous groups, I want to continue dedicating my time to you, the residents. I am proud to have served for the last four years contributing to this area and across the district. Being chairman gave me the opportunity to showcase the wonderful place it is to live and work and I will keep working to make it even better. I hope I can count on your support at the election and allow me to continue the hard work which has been put in so far. Please remember to vote Beal and Redgate.
