Spalding branch of Hughes Electrical open through 'Click & Collect' service

A Spalding retailer is staying open for customers by offering them a "click & collect" service for goods ordered online.

Hughes Electrical, in Sheep Market, is allowing people to call the store, buy goods and then collect them between 8.30am and 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays.

The retailer is also offering customers a home delivery service that will observe "strict hygiene and distancing protocols" for those not wishing to collect goods in person.

Company chairman Robert Hughes said: " It is important that we continue to stand by the communities in which we operate, and indeed all our customers, as safely and efficiently as we can.

"As we are once again being asked to stay at home, it makes people more dependent on refrigeration for food storage, cookers or microwaves to prepare it and televisions to help pass the time and keep up to date with latest developments."

In addition, Hughes has extended the hours for its "Shop Live" service where customers can view products and demonstrations from the comfort of their own home by visiting www.hughes.co.uk

The service is available seven days a week from 9am until 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 10am until 10pm on Sunday.

Hughes is also continuing to support its rental customers throughout the lockdown, while its business-to-busienss division – Hughes Trade – will also be operating.

Mr Hughes said: "If any appliance does go wrong then people will want to know it can quickly be replaced by a phone call or by visiting the internet.

"I would like to give my thanks to all the Hughes staff who are pulling together to support customers at such a very difficult time."
