Person hit by train on railway line between Spalding and Peterborough




A person has been hit by a train on the railway line between Spalding and Peterborough this evening (Tuesday).

Emergency services are on the scene – where The Raceground passes over the line near Spalding Common – to attend to the incident, with the railway line currently closed as a result.

The condition of the person is not yet known.

An East Midlands Railway spokesman said: “We are very sad to inform you that a person has been hit by a train between Spalding and Peterborough.

“The emergency services are dealing with the incident and buses will replace trains whilst the line is closed.”

Passengers should visit www.eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk for the latest travel updates, with passenger services currently scheduled to be delayed by a couple of hours on the route both ways between Doncaster, Lincoln, Sleaford, Spalding and Peterborough.
