Engineers vow to work ‘for as long as it takes’ to finish Pinchbeck roadworks in time for Spalding Flower Parade
Engineers have promised to work ‘for as long as it takes’ to ensure a crucial road will be open in time for the Spalding Flower Parade.
Wardentree Lane in Pinchbeck has been closed since Tuesday while Anglian Water carry out repairs to a pipe.
However, there is mounting pressure on the utility company to finish the work before the parade, which takes place on Saturday, as it will play a critical role in diverting visiting traffic.
This evening, an Anglian Water spokesman said they’d spoken to a senior official who assured them that the work would be done before Saturday’s parade.
This newspaper understands work was being carried out early this morning, but a few hours later frustrated residents reported not seeing anyone on the site.
