Enter the House of Horrors at Spalding's The Sessions House - if you dare!

Thrill seekers were given the fright of their lives when a terrifying Halloween experience was opened up to the public.

The Session House, in the Sheep Market, was turned red by owners Oliver and Dorota Sneath over the weekend to signify that something spooky was ahead in the form of their first House of Horrors experience.

On Monday, the first visitors attended the opening night former court house, which been transformed into a horror and adrenaline filled immersive experience just in time for Halloween.

Oliver, who came up with the idea after he was inspired by his love of horror, says that the first night was a great success.

He said: "The week got off to a very good start and there was a lot of noise.

"The loudest screams definitely came from the cells and the obstacle course where visitors wear a blindfold, which is single use due to COVID, and have to get around following a rope.

"This is our first time putting on an event like this but it's going really well - we've had lots of positive reviews which is great."

Those who are brave enough to attend the event, which runs until October 31, will be able to get involved with several spooky moments, including seeing what lies beneath the building in the depths of the cells and facing judgement in the courtroom.

A team of 20 actors, put together by Karl Gernert of Spalding based theatre company Act II, make the experience even more realistic, along with a host of ghoulish props which are so realistic they caused problems in transit.

Oliver said: "I ordered a few very realistic decomposing bodies from Wales which have now arrived.

"However, the seller was delivering them to me in person and I got a message saying there was a delay as he’d been stopped by the police. Whether it was to do with the bodies I don’t know, but it took a while for them to arrive!

"It's really great having the actors in the building as they really want it to be a success too.

"There’s nothing else like this in the East of England, especially in an historic building and unique setting such as this, so we are really pleased."
