A popular opticians has undergone an eye opening new refit.

Staff at Molsoms and Associates have unveiled the revamped store in Spalding’s Hall Place.

Working with the team from My Castle Property Maintenance, the transformation included a full repaint and reflooring of the customer areas and a change of the lay out.

There is now a welcoming reception podium on the right as you walk into the practice, and once checked in, the waiting area is in the quiet rear area of the practice.

Andy Molsom, optometrist and business owner, is delighted with the new look.

He said: “Since we moved here in 2010, our practice has changed considerably. Not only has our customer base increased, the needs of our customers and the profession of optometry has changed.

“We have been seeing customers referred to us by other opticians for over eight years, we have developed relationships with hospital eye clinics and recently invested in new equipment for improving our customers’ eye health long term.”

Molsom & Associates, which is carrying on with their present way of working by appointment only, has been giving more time to customers during appointments.

Mr Molsom said: “We have been working with longer appointment times since we reopened to customers in June 2020 and found it to be beneficial to our customers in more ways than just time for extra clean down procedures, so more time is the best way we can help our customers going forward.”

Molsom & Associates will become a private optometry practice from June 1.

This means that they can give the same longer Advanced Eye Examination using 3D OCT technology to every one of their customers.

Mr Molsom said:“We have invested in 3D OCT technology now for over 12 years. We have seen the large benefit from picking up treatable eye conditions earlier or being able to monitor conditions instead of sending customers to hospital eye departments unnecessarily.”

Existing NHS customers are able to access Molsom & Associates eye examinations either by paying on the day or by joining the large number of customers enjoying the benefits of the Platinum Eyecare Plan.

Mr Molsom said: “Our Platinum membership plan has been extremely popular, and this not only gives Advanced Eye Examinations anytime they are needed, but also includes any further consultations for any eye concerns and discount off all the products we sell.”

Luke Jackson, business director from My Castle Property Maintenance, said: “In the short time scale this makeover was a challenge but working with the Molsom team was delightful. Everything came together with only a few unexpected issues ironed out very quickly.”
