Deeping St Nicholas’ Vine House Farm given permission to extend farm shop cafe

A popular farm shop has been given permission to extend its cafe area.

Deeping St Nicholas’ Vine House Farm has also been given the green light to add 16 car parking spaces by South Holland District Council.

The cafe currently has seating for 70 inside, with 30 more outside on the deck overlooking the wildlife garden and pond, serving breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea, while the farm shop prides itself on stocking Lincolnshire produce.

“The proposal relates to a farm shop extension which measures 6 metres wide, 11.98 metres long and 5.3m high,” the planning officer’s report explains.

“The existing farm shop has an overall ridge height of 6m.

“The extension would be subservient to the main shop and will be using materials to match the existing, namely timber boarding for the walls, light grey composite roof tiles and aluminium window frames.”

Designs submitted by agent Evolution Design show a proposed extension to the eastern side of the building, which would fit between the current external terrace and play area.

Small areas of the play area and terrace make way for the expansion.

Deeping St Nicholas Parish Council had no objections to the request but ‘a further comment related to the amount and speed of traffic needing to be addressed and they requested the speed limit needs to be reduced to 20mph past the school’.
