Owners at Vine House Farm in Deeping St Nicholas ‘chuffed to bits’ after winning Lincolnshire award
Owners of a popular farm shop say they feel ‘chuffed to bits’ after winning a taste of excellence award.
Vine House Farm Shop and Cafe in Deeping St Nicholas, recently celebrated a big victory after receiving the Best Farm Shop of the Year award for 2024.
The award is featured as part of the Lincolnshire Life Magazine Taste of Excellence Food and Drink Award –which Lucy Taylor, one of the owners at Vine House Farm, has previously admired.
She said: “We feel super proud. As a small farm shop we used to admire the other businesses who have won or featured in the magazine in previous years.
“We have been able to grow as a business and it is amazing – hats off to the whole team.”
The farm shop sells a variety of home-grown organic produce from the farm and offers a wide range of locally sourced products such as their own own free range eggs. The shop also sells dairy, meat and poultry, homemade cakes and chutneys, pies and frozen foods.
Lucy added: “We feel passionate about the importance of the quality of our produce. It would be cheaper for us to mass produce, but we want to offer the best to our customers.
“Our customers support us and share the same beliefs so we are chuffed to bits with the award.
“We were nominated for the award by our customers and received hundreds and hundreds of votes which we appreciate.
“Without my father, Nicholas Watts, we wouldn't be here – he sees the farm shop and cafe as an extension of his house and I think that is reflected in the experience customers have.”
Some of the other farm and local shops in Lincolnshire which were shortlisted for the award include Leagate Road Farm Shop in Coningsby, Doddington Farm Shop in Doddington, Manor Farm Shops in Sleaford, S Sharpe & Daughter Fruit & Veg along the A158 Stainton by Langworth and Uncle Henry’s and Williamsons Farm Shop in Gainsborough.
