Fete raises much needed funds for Holbeach Women’s Institute Hall
A garden fete raised much needed funds to help with repairs to a Holbeach hall.
Even though it rained, the special event at the Women’s Institute Hall in Park Road saw many through the doors to enjoy a range of stalls on Saturday.
Stalls were selling a wide range of good including handmade crafts, an ice cream van, a tombola, lots of sweet treats and more.
Bookings secretary Theresa Higgins was delighted with the success of the event.
She said: “It went ok and everybody enjoyed it.
“The footfall was good even though the weather was against us.
“The fete was opened by the piper band at midday.
“We are raising funds for repairs at the hall after a major leak.”
The hall had been closed for a short period due to the leak, which happened earlier this year.
A Christmas fayre will be held at the same venue on Saturday, November 18 for further fundraising with Santa Claus making an appearance.
Local charity Boxes of Hope will be holding a craft fair in the WI Hall in Holbeach on October 23.
The hall is also available for hire.
